Scott Grzenczyk Honored With 2020 Antitrust Enforcement Award
Girard Sharp is pleased to announce that Scott Grzenczyk, Partner at the firm, is a recipient of the prestigious American Antitrust Institute’s “Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement by a Young Lawyer” award. Scott is one of only six attorneys honored in this category nationwide.
Scott Grzenczyk was recognized for his hard work in the complex antitrust case, In re Restasis (Cyclosporine Ophthalmic Emulsion) Antitrust Litigation, where he represents the End-Payor class. The case arises from Allergan’s alleged scheme to perpetuate its monopoly over Restasis, a blockbuster eye medication, by foreclosing the entry of a generic competitor.
Scott helped lead the efforts in securing class certification for the End-Payor class in May 2020. He had a hand in all aspects of the class certification briefing, including the preparation of the expert reports, conducting a direct examination at the evidentiary hearing, and preparing other direct and cross examinations. The class certification decision in Restasis comes on the heels of unfavorable rulings in other similar cases, and the strategy Scott helped design allowed the End-Payors to success despite those and other challenges. Scott works with Partner Dena Sharp, Associate Tom Watts, and co-counsel in the Restasis case.
Scott will be honored at a virtual awards ceremony of the 14th Annual Private Antitrust Enforcement Conference on November 12th. You can find more information on the event and a full list of the honorees here.
