More Information on Capcom’s Data Breach
On November 4, Capcom announced that they experienced network issues due to “unauthorized access by a third party.” It was later revealed, after an initial two-week investigation, that Capcom’s servers were hacked using a customized ransomware attack.
Capcom confirmed in a press release that passport information, signatures, and other personal information of their current and former employees were compromised. Additionally, Capcom reported that customers, shareholders, and business partners’ personal information may have also been compromised in the attack.
