Kroger Data Breach Investigation
Girard Sharp attorneys are investigating reports of a data breach that occurred at supermarket chain Kroger. The breach reportedly involves Accellion, a third-party provider of hosted file transfers. Accellion has confirmed unauthorized access to the customers of Kroger Health and Kroger Money Services’ data and personal information.
The breach is reported to have potentially exposed the personal information of at least 1 million people. The exposed data may include personal health and insurance information used at Kroger pharmacies, including social security numbers.

More Information on the Kroger Breach
Kroger partners with Accellion Inc. in order to transfer large files, which can include sensitive information. Kroger reportedly learned of the breach on January 23, after Accellion, a third-party software vendor, announced a security breach. Accellion claims that it notified customers on December 23.
