More Details on NZXT H1 Case Investigation

On February 12, 2021, NZXT and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall for the H1case for fire hazard. The recall includes all CA-H16WR-W1 white cases and all CA-H16WR-B1 black cases sold in the United States and Canada. The covered models were sold between February 2020 and February 2021.

The fault is reportedly due to a poorly designed printed circuit board used in the case’s PCIe riser cable, which positioned a 12-volt power plane too close to the screw hole. This close proximity has the potential to cause the printed circuit board to overheat and catch fire.
