More Details on the Planned Parenthood Los Angeles Data Breach

Suspicious activity was identified on October 17, 2021. A third-party cybersecurity firm assisted in an investigation and discovered an unauthorized person gained access to Planned Parenthood’s system between October 9, 2021 and October 17, 2021 and exported files from Planned Parenthood’s network. After this discovery, on November 4, 2021, Planned Parenthood identified personal and sensitive information was contained in those affected files. Within letters Planned Parenthood Los Angeles recently began to send to affected patients, it claims this information contains the patient’s name and one or more of the following: address, insurance information, date of birth, and clinical information, such as diagnosis, procedure, and/or prescription information.
