SuperCare Health Data Breach Investigation

Girard Sharp attorneys are investigating reports of a data breach affecting patients of SuperCare Health, a California respiratory care provider. SuperCare announced on March 25, 2022, that an unauthorized person or group gained access to patient’s protected health information stored in certain systems on the SuperCare Health network.  

The breach is reported to have exposed the personal information of over 318,000 individuals.

More Information on the SuperCare Breach

According to a notice posted on the company's website, SuperCare Health discovered unauthorized activity on its electronic systems on July 27, 2021. A forensic investigation revealed that an unknown party had access to certain systems on its network from July 23, 2021 to July 27, 2021. The company then determined on February 4, 2022, that the impacted files contained sensitive patient information.

Impacted personal information may include: name, address, date of birth, hospital or medical group, patient account number, medical record number, health insurance information, testing/diagnostic/treatment information, other health-related information, and claim information. For a subset of individuals, impacted information may also include Social Security and/or driver’s license numbers.
