YES was an options strategy marketed by UBS to wealthy investors as a portfolio enhancer to generate modest income with limited risk. Customers are reported to have invested over $6 billion total, with an estimated minimum investment of $2 million.

However, spikes in volatility in February and December 2018 caused YES investors to incur losses of over 20%, and there are reports that YES portfolios have lost a total of 33% as a result of the March volatility linked to COVID-19. Reports point to a variety of misrepresentations of YES, including that the strategy was generally safe and that it was prepared for periods of high volatility.
